Christmas Markets Beyond the Netherlands

For those wanting to explore further afield, Europe offers a wealth of festive markets that are perfect for a weekend getaway.

Belgium is home to some of the most charming markets. In Hasselt, Winterland transforms the city into a festive wonderland with an ice rink, a Ferris wheel and street‑food stalls running from 14 November 2025 to 4 January 2026.

In Brussels, Winter Wonders features hundreds of chalets, a giant Christmas tree and light displays, from 28 November 2025 to 1 January 2026.

In Germany, the market at Cologne Cathedral is set beneath the UNESCO world‑heritage site and features more than 130 stalls from 18 November to 23 December 2025.

Further along, the Mosel Wein Nachts Markt in Traben‑Trarbach is truly unique: an underground wine‑cellar market open 21 November 2025 – 3 January 2026.

France offers the magical market in Metz, running from around 21 November to 28 December 2025.

And in Estonia, the market in Tallinn at Town Hall Square offers a fairy‑tale winter setting from 21 November to 28 December 2025.
